On 14 October 2026, LLC IQUSION IT held a client training seminar on applying Zero Trust to its software products. Part of the IQusion Days programme, the session focused on enterprise data protection, access management and information-system architecture. 01
Company expert Serhii Balashuk explained why a growing number of integrations and distributed services calls for security checks at the level of individual operations. Participants also examined how to incorporate these mechanisms during software design.
Network location does not establish trust
In a perimeter-based model, users and devices inside the corporate network traditionally received a higher level of trust. Zero Trust takes a different approach: being connected to that network is insufficient grounds for accessing information.
Requests to protected resources need to be assessed against identity, permissions and access policies. This applies both to people and to software components communicating with one another.
Mechanisms that work together
The seminar covered several connected elements of Zero Trust:
- Identity verification and authorisation: access follows explicitly defined permissions.
- Least privilege: a user or service receives only the authority needed for its task.
- Segmentation: restrictions on communication between components help contain the spread of an attack.
- Monitoring and audit: security events are recorded and analysed to identify suspicious activity.
Together, these mechanisms provide a basis for controlled interaction with enterprise resources. They need to be considered in the system’s architecture before it enters operation.
Protection throughout the data workflow
This is particularly relevant to business process management systems, which connect documents, databases, users with different roles and external services. Checks at sign-in need to be complemented by control over subsequent operations involving information.
Separating permissions for functions and data helps limit the consequences of a compromised account. Zero Trust remains a broad approach combining technology, architectural decisions and organisational practices. A standalone product cannot replace that work.
Relevance to distributed infrastructure
The principles discussed are useful for businesses with remote access, external integrations and automated processes. They help make operations more accountable and reduce the potential scope of a security incident.
